Texas Facts

When people think of Texas they think of a really big state.  It is the second largest state in the United States following Alaska.  On December 29, 1845 Texas became the 28th state.  The state capital of Texas is Austin which is located in the middle east of Texas.  The largest city in Texas is Houston which is located on the far east coast.  The population of Texas is approximately twenty one million people.  Texas is known for many major industries such as petroleum, natural gas, cotton, farming, and steel.  Texas is known as the Lone Star State.  These are just some of the many facts about Texas.
